I had some corrupted pics in iPhoto since my previous back-up - using TextEdit to compare them with readable files it was clear that the header info was missing. This little app salvaged the original, deleted files from my camera's CF card with absolutely no trouble at all.
Thank you

I was assigned to recover pictures from my mother's SD card, which she accidentally deleted. There were some important pictures in there, so I was even willing to pay for a shareware. I went to versiontracker, looked around goole, and came down to 3 apps to try. They are MediaRECOVER, Photorescue Wizard, and Exif Untrasher. Exif Untrasher is the only freeware. The other two will cost you $29, but has a trial [teaser] mode where they'll the apps will show you what pictures it can recover. To recover the files you must pay for the app.
In the end, I think MediaRECOVER and Photorescue came back with just a few more files (out of 147 or so) than Exif Untrasher. The few missing files didn't seem very important; certainly not worth $29 extra. I hope I'll never have to use an app like this again, but if I do, I know Exif Untrasher is a great freeware for the task.

hi,
after i plugged my mobile via usb-cable in my mac,
i lost all may pics on my mobile (Sony w800i).
(i dunno, made something wrong..)
after i mounted the card only with my card reader,
started exif untrasher, built an image, saved the files
from the image to the hard drive,
i got them all back, except one which was only partly
visible.
So it worked very well for me.
Great tool.
Thanks
Matthias

I had stupidly erased all my CompactFlash memory card. Exif Untrasher has just recovered ALL the photos. Brilliant ! I just had to use an external card reader because my EOS 300D 'Digital Rebel' does not mount on the Finder desktop as a Mass Storage volume (Canon's fault).
Anyway, what a fantastic software ! Do not hesitate to donate some bucks to the author, because that's REALLY worth it !

This application saved photos from a compact flash card that kept saying it was empty. We we're able to salvage every photograph intact.
<P>
Kudos for a great application, and for making it free! Lots of karma points.

Our neighbour's wife went on a trip with her old mother to new Zealand, probably her last trip there. She made a lot of pictures. On coming home her son started to play with the camera, erasing all 190 photos. She was devastated.
I looked for and found this great software. I recovered all pictures with Exif. Needless to say, I'm her hero now!
Exif is easy to use, simple yet very effective.

Used this gem to recover a trip to Korea that was hiding on a Sony memory stick. I think it recovered all of the images and there were three extra files that were garbage, worked as advertised.
thank you.

I recently took 130 photos at a father-son event. These were important as I was planning to send these on to the organizer for use on their website. When I got back home, I noticed that somehow all but 20 had accidentally been erased from my Olympus D-510. I quickly ran this program and immediately recovered 110 of them. One or two were distorted, but I managed to recover more than I'd expected.
